Crater Lake RV Park

Trips 2012, Home

June, 2013

The sites are kind of close together but the park wasn't full so we didn't feel crowded. We were expecting to have a fire and s'mores but fires were only allowed in fire rings, which we didn't have and didn't want to rent for ten dollars per night even though that would have included wood. It's a small park with a single loop which takes about five minutes to walk around, but we still did that a few times each day.

There is also a nearby PacifiCorp reservoir on the Rogue River with a hiking path going upstream along the river.

I guess if we wanted a long hike, this would be one option.

This is the upper end of the reservoir and you can see that is starting to slim back down to river size.

Our handy GPS shows just how far (or little) we hiked before turning back, as at the time we didn't know were we were going other than heading upstream.
